After nearly eight years together, Royal Never Give Up will part ways with its League of Legends player Xiaohu. The honoured multi-position talent helped usher in an era of domestic and international dominance, turning RNG into a constant threat at global events during his long tenure with the organization.
Xiaohu and RNG won the League of Legends mid-season championship three times, becoming the only team in history to win the tournament three times. This year, RNG reached the quarterfinals of the World Championship. This is RNG’s fifth time entering the World Championship since Xiaohu arrived in 2015.
Xiaohu will join the Weibo game in the 2023 Pro League season; the organization announced earlier today via the Chinese social media app and Weibo of the same name.
Weibo Gaming achieved its most notable success in 2020 when the team competed in the finals of the League World Championship under Suning’s banner. Since then, Weibo has failed to qualify for international events despite retaining most of its 2020 world runner-up list. This season, Weibo was eliminated in the second round of the LPL summer playoffs and ranked eighth in the league.
