The artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in blockchain and crypto has been met with both hype and skepticism. Despite the skepticism, several blockchain stakeholders are finding genuine use cases for AI, particularly in Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs). Illia Polosukhin, founder of Near, suggests AI could manage logistical operations within DAOs, helping members understand the organization’s workings. However, the technology’s maturity is still in question, with large-language models like GPT-3 hallucinating 3% to 27% of their output. Despite the limitations, DAO founders like Rune Christensen of MakerDAO are planning AI-assisted governance, with AI tools providing real-time project overviews.
